Nordic Iron Ore is granted exploration permit for Blötberget no 4

Nordic Iron Ores application for exploration permit for Blöberget no 4, an area adjacent to the company's mining concessions for Blötberget, has been granted by the Mining Inspectorate. The decision is an important contribution to Nordic Iron Ores' preparatory work for resuming iron ore production in Ludvika Mines.

On February 20th, 2019, the Swedish Mining Inspectorate granted Nordic Iron Ore’s application for an exploration permit for “Blötberget no. 4” in Ludvika municipality. According to the Mining Act, the exploration permit entails the exclusive right to investigate the granted area and is valid for three years. The survey area covers an area of 453.72 hectares and connects to Nordic Iron Ores' two mining concessions for Blötberget, a project for which the company has all the necessary permits to commence mining operations.

Nordic Iron Ore's ambition is to resume mining of iron ore in Ludvika, starting in Blötberget for which a feasibility study has been completed defining mineable reserves amounting to 34 Mt. The new exploration permit will be of importance for the exploration work aiming at extending the estimated mine life by adding mineral resources.
