Drilling program in Blötberget

Nordic Iron has started a drilling program in Blötberget. The aim is to explore iron oxide resources and potential rare earth elements (REE).

We're also drilling at the old sand reservoir - what was once waste can become a resource!

In previous mining operations in Blötberget, tailings were deposited (piled up as waste) here. Some iron ore and other minerals were lost in the process - today we know that they can be very valuable.

Using sonic drilling, a method where vibrations and rotation push drill pipes into the ground, we take samples from every meter, from the surface down to the bottom, about 20 meters deep. The aim is to analyze the levels of iron, phosphorus and rare earth elements. With modern technology and new knowledge, what was once unusable can become a valuable source of raw materials.
