Inspiration and Innovation in Blötberget

Day two of the Mining@ORU 2024 conference, held some time ago, was an inspiring and sunny day in Blötberget.

Participants had the opportunity to visit the tailings facility where the Smart Exploration Research Center together with Nordic Iron Ore conducted a groundbreaking pilot study. Using fiber optic sensors and advanced seismic surveys, the historical mine waste was explored.

After the tour of the sand magazine, participants were given an insight into Nordic Iron Ore's work, where drill cores were shown and plans for future sustainable mining were discussed. We would like to thank all participants who contributed to many valuable conversations about the future of Blötberget!
