Pilot study in Blötberget

A team from the Smart Exploration Research Center and Nordic Iron Ore will conduct a pilot study at the old mine in Blötberget. They will investigate the condition of the historical mine waste using new methods, such as fiber optic sensors and special seismic surveys to look deep into the ground.

The aim is to investigate whether rare earth elements are present in the waste and whether they can be extracted. The study will also provide Nordic Iron Ore with important information on a future strategy for how to deal with potentially recoverable elements in the waste in future mining.

If you are interested in attending or visiting them on site on Friday, October 4 at 11:00, you can register by sending a message to info@smartexploration.se
