Thank you Ludvika municipality for the visit to Blötberget!

We would like to thank Ludvika Municipality for the visit to Blötberget and for the nice article, written by the municipality and with photos taken by Hampus Pettersson, Ludvika Municipality. Read the article below to get an insight into our work and the exciting future of the region.

Iron ore mining is a big and important part of Ludvika's history. Now it is well on the way to being brought back to life. In Blötberget, a deep drilling program is underway to explore and hopefully add mineral resources to the already known deposits.

- The major goal is to produce an ultra-highly enriched iron ore concentrate. Previous tests show that we in Blötberget have the opportunity to produce products with an iron content and quality, i.e. purity, that is among the highest in the world, says Ronne Hamerslag, CEO of Nordic Iron Ore.

On Wednesday, he took County Governor Helena Höij, Municipal Director Maria Skoglund, Business Director Erik Odens and Municipal Councillors Leif Pettersson and HåGe Persson to the drilling site in Blötberget.

As the steel industry transitions, demand for iron ore products with high iron content is expected to increase.

- "Greener steel metallurgy and reduced carbon dioxide emissions require the kind of clean iron ore products we can deliver," says Ronne Hamerslag.

It is hoped that the new deep drilling program will make discoveries that will increase the long-term viability of the mine, thus attracting the investors needed to start building the new mining area.

- When fully operational, around 300 people are expected to work there, with a planned headquarters and entrance from the Björnmossen industrial area.
